  • Bring your driver’s license, a copy of both documents and an original letter from your employer stating why they request this change in status (if applicable). The letter should include details such as name, job title and company name; it should also state how long they’ve been employed there so that we can confirm their eligibility for sponsorship through us before issuing any permits or licenses.*

Categories and types of driving licences

In Qatar, there are four categories of driving licences:

  • Category A: This is the primary category and includes learners’ permits. It also includes provisional licenses issued to people who have never held a driving licence before. This category does allow you to drive at night or on highways. You have passed your test, which lasts two years before you can upgrade to Category B.
  • Category B: The next step from Category A is Category B, which allows holders to drive anywhere during daylight hours as long as they are not carrying passengers under 18 years old (except for family members). You may also use this license when visiting other countries if they accept international permits; however, if another country requires an ID card with photo identification when renting cars or motorcycles, it’s best to bring both documents in case something goes wrong later down the road!
